生地を高密度で織り上げ、起毛密度も最大まで高めたオリジナルの極厚モールスキンの生地を
使用しています。
この生地の光沢は最高級のヌバックレザーのような光沢があり、
ディティールは1950年代のフランスのワークジャケットをベースにしています。
フレンチワークで使用されていたモールスキンは1800年代から1950年代ごろに
フレンチワークのジャケットによく使用されており、光沢と微起毛が特徴の素材です。
また当時、炭鉱で働く人たちに強度がある作業着として愛用されていました。
炭鉱で働く人が愛用したこともあり、
地下に潜る「モグラの（mole）肌（skin）」という名がついたという説があります。
